In this week’s blog we will be discussing:

How the overuse of technology is negatively affecting your body.

Technology advances have made our lives easier. However, use of technology can negatively affect our bodies. If you ever find yourself hunched over a computer or looking down at your phone you’re at risk for several different problems. Continued bad posture can be extremely problematic for your spine which can cause back pain, shoulder pain, and neck pain.

Anyone who has a desk job tends to suffer more from back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, etc. and when you’re not at your job you’re either staring down at your phone or laptop at home. This can produce a serious strain on your body and wear and tear on your joints.

Move Well MD recommends you stand up from your desk from time to time and take a short walk during lunch and when you are sitting to be conscience of your posture. Make sure to stretch and loosen those muscles and when you are home take regular breaks from all forms of technology.

Speak to your HR director about getting proper desk ergonomics at your work station.
