Although many believe that DOMS is due to lactic acid accumulation, however Lactic acid is not a component of this process. It is also typically mistaken to be a muscle strain.


Below are the many symptoms associated DOMS:


Activities that cause DOMS cause the muscles to lengthen when force is applied. Symptoms tend to diminish during activity, but they will return after recovery.
